Orleans United DFC Coalition is pleased to inform Orleans County School Districts that we will be able to continue our long-term evaluation efforts by administering the Prevention Needs Assessment Survey. Surveys were previously administered in the fall of 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011, 2013 2015 and 2017.
The Prevention Needs Assessment Survey was administered in Kendall, Holley, Lyndonville and Medina School Districts in November 2017. The survey provides you with lifetime and 30-day usage information on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use for students in grades seven through twelve as well as information on risk factors, protective factors and gambling. This year we added 12 questions to the PNA pertaining to e-cigarettes, vaping and advertising.
As a result of efforts made by the Orleans United Drug Free Communities Coalition and local school districts, progress has been made in reducing drug usage among our students, but more needs to be done.
Thank you for being a key partner in our coalition to reduce drug and alcohol use among our youth in Orleans County and for continuing to participate in this very important community effort.
