Orleans United DFC Coalition is pleased to inform Orleans County School Districts that we will be able to continue our long-term evaluation efforts by administering the Prevention Needs Assessment Survey this fall. Surveys were previously administered in the fall of 2005, 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013.
The Prevention Needs Assessment Survey will be administered in Kendall, Holley, Lyndonville and Medina School Districts in November 2015. The survey will provide you with lifetime and 30-day usage information on alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use for students in grades seven through twelve as well as information on risk factors, protective factors and gambling. This year we added 9 questions to the PNA pertaining to e-cigarettes and vaping.
As a result of efforts made by the Orleans United Drug Free Communities Coalition and local school districts, progress has been made in reducing drug usage among our students, but more needs to be done.
Thank you for being a key partner in our coalition to reduce drug and alcohol use among our youth in Orleans County and for continuing to participate in this very important community effort.
